Körper ohne Macht (2015)
In an intensive dialogue with artistic partners, three very different solo works emerge, which are thematically oriented towards a debordered body of ‹non-power› and the experience of boundlessness and openness without power. How - so the almost utopian question - does a body move without power and detached from power-logical contexts?

Part 1 of the Solo-Trilogy Körper ohne Macht
“In the Blind Spot” takes the notion of letting go as it´s starting point and leads the body to the edge of collapse and utter surrendering. It strives to transform the supposed weakness of the spent body into something positive and celebrate it as the refusal of the achievement imperative, the fullness of its fragility revealing the unseen location of the non-resistant resistance. “In the Blind Spot” expounds a very physical movement language, extracting the usual limits of identity and (self) assertion by its very softness. With limitless non-aggression it reveals and provokes simultaneously. The performance radically puts the singular body as the centerpiece. As if under a magnifying glass, hidden insides are brought to light.

The Fire from within
Part 2 of the Solo-Trilogy Körper ohne Macht
In „The Fire from within“, Angela Schubot shares her practice and personal body realities with her audience. Through spoken language, she invites us to participate in a world, that would (otherwise) remain fully beneath the skin. The idea that language, thought and movement occur independently of one another in the body, for Schubot, is a cliché that she in turn dismantles. Guided by her intuition, she sets herself on the search for tangible evidence of the contrary in this imploring workshop-performance. Partly anatomically concrete, partly fantastical, but never didactic, Schubot takes her participating audience members on a journey through (individual) internal and (collective) external worlds. “The Fire from within” is the second part of the trilogy “Körper ohne Macht,” in which the choreographer seeks to dissolve the boundaries of the body understood as a “super-controlled explosion thing“ along with her ally and doula Martin Clausen.

Körper ohne Macht
Part 3 of the Solo-Trilogy Körper ohne Macht
Can there ever be a body that exists beyond power? A body that neither loses itself in the other nor continues its self in the other? In „Körper ohne Macht“, the final piece of the eponymous solo trilogy, Angela Schubot embarks on a search for a debordered body of "non-power" and the experience of physical continuity without power.
If "In the blind Spot," as the first part of the trilogy puts the exhausted body at its center, which, in the second part "The Fire from within," receives an conjuring healing, Schubot now makes a body perceivable, that escapes the holds of power and wants more than itself. A body that can´t but open up more and more and that becomes one with its inner and outer surroundings.
the inside is the outside is the inside.

The body that Schubot creates eludes access as an «object of knowledge» (Michel Foucault). With it neither a beauty contest can be won nor a war - maybe not even a knowledge. „Körper ohne Macht» is an attempt to occupy nothing and still be. (TANZ)
"Another, perhaps the most radical, type of immersion was developed by Angela Schubot in her "Körper ohne Macht"- Trilogy(2015), where realtime meditation approached the paradox of a physical presence permeable to space:" In a zero-sum economy of Power, no other can occupy the space I occupy. I tried to reverse that principle by pervading the body with space. "Politically thought, with this hypothesis she has found a possible means to override the chain reaction of capitalism-appropriation (neo) colonialism. In the last part of the trilogy, the outer body shape seems to become amorphous, revealing an ethereal babbling, drooling, vegetative monster - like an unresolved fairy tale character. It works like a primordial process of decomposition, which eeriness results from a shift from form into matter experience. Angela Schubot: "It's about a principle that carries me. I can hang up myself in it as if I hang my own body like clothes in the wardrobe“
