You are invited into an imperial space overtaken by plant life, where movement, sound, and space emerge beyond human logic. In layers of kin, performers move in kinship with moss, yarrow, clover, and oak, share bodies and embody an ecological coexistence. 
Unfolding in close proximity to the audience, the choreography offers an immersive durational experience as the dancers move together across the space, creating a post-imperial inter-species ballroom utopia.

Layers of kin continues Vitovec’s exploration of plant consciousness and interdependence, following earlier works SAMMAL/MOSS, MOSSBELLY and YA!. This purely acoustic, sonic, and moving work does not center on one single plant like earlier pieces, but instead layers distinct plant qualities and shared bodies into a complex choreography of ecological relationships
